Causes and Countermeasures for Other Abnormal Phenomena in Slitting Processing

(1) Uncut: Although it passed through the slitting line, it was not cut off, which was called uncut.

A : Uncut due to bending upward of slitter shaft. The nut of lock knife is not tightly fastened; the screw thread of the lower screw is worn.

B : Uncut caused by the deflection of the slitter shaft. The load of the slitter shaft is composed of the shearing load and the breakage strength of the apron. When the cutter is worn, the shearing load increases, and the cutter shaft is deflected during the slitting process, resulting in uncut.

(2)Pollution

A : The surface fibers of the tension plate are detached and adhere to the steel plate.

B : Garbage, oil, etc. on the material are accumulated in the tension plate and then transferred to the steel plate.

C : Contaminants on the equipment are transferred to the steel plate.

D : Gloves and the like adhere to the steel plate after being contaminated.

(3)Poor width size

A : A poor size caused by the lateral oscillation of the cutters. A poor size caused by the lateral swing of the cutter and the difference between outer diameter of the cutters. The lateral swing value of the cutters can never be zero, and the lateral swing value of the general load is about 0.03-0.05 mm. The reason are the accuracy error of the blade thickness, the inner diameter and the width of distance piece, and the warpage caused by the lateral stress when the thick plate is sheared.

B : A poor width size caused by the lateral warpage of the steel plate. Products that are cut in the lateral warping state are measured more than the setting value of the matching knife.

C: Matching error of SPACER and the tool. The thickness accuracy of the SPACER and the tool is 0.005. When the number of pieces is large during matching the knife, the cumulative error becomes large.

D: The poor size caused by the poor upper setting. The width of the product cut by the metal slitting line is always slightly lower than the size of matching knife on the side of the product, so it is necessary to predict the degree of this difference in advance. Refer when the size of the SPACER is determined during the knife is placed on the side of the product.

E: The change in width caused by the shearing method. Compared with the driving mode shearing, the tension of the steel coil in the straight-pull shearing is increased, the lateral warpage is lost, and the size is also deteriorated.

F: The poor width caused by edge shearing. Reasons include that the adjustment of side guide is poor, and the width of the base material varies greatly. If the waste edge is not cut, the width will be poor.

G: The poor width caused by extremely large take-up tension of winding machine. When winding, once the tension is too large, the steel plate is stretched longitudinally, the direction of width is reduced, and the width of the product is narrowed.
